Who am I?

“I think, therefore, I write…” – J.S Vincent

I’m a Journalism & Creative Writing student at Kingston University in the United Kingdom. Raised in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, I visit the island at least twice a year; working at Searchlight Newspaper (local newspaper) while I am there.

I believe in Vincentians going abroad to gain work experience and university education, but I also believe that each person should “give back” to the island, to help the less-fortunate (who cannot afford to study abroad) advance themselves.

Though my interests are varied and I have a strong desire to travel the world, my ties to St. Vincent and the Grenadines are binding – I plan to return to make my contribution within the next 3 years.

Like several others, I believe that the Vincentian media industry is in need of a “shake-up”. Through the knowledge, experience and connections that I gain while studying in the UK and travelling abroad, I hope to be an active part of this inevitable change…

If you have any suggestions on any aspect of this blog, please feel free to contact me!
